Grupo Concentra joins Ascentiel to create insurance brokerage leader on the Iberian Peninsula

Jornal Económico10 September 2026 at 10:47

Grupo Concentra will integrate with French company Ascentiel Groupe to create a leading insurance brokerage group on the Iberian Peninsula, in an operation that represents Ascentiel's largest acquisition to date. Ascentiel Groupe, backed by Belgian investment company Cobepa and Amundi Private Equity Funds, has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Grupo Concentra, whose value has not been disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval from insurance supervisory authorities in Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.

BlackFin Capital Partners, Concentra's majority shareholder since 2022, is selling its stake, but the company founder and management team will reinvest and continue as shareholders of the group. Management remains unchanged, with Javier López-Linares as chief executive, Carlos Gómez Pascual as managing director, Emilio de Navasquës as CFO, and Inês Montenegro as CTO.

With the integration, the Iberian business is expected to achieve revenues of approximately 62 million euros and have around 370 employees. Globally, the resulting group is expected to exceed 150 million euros in revenues in 2026. This is Ascentiel's third operation on the Iberian Peninsula, after the acquisition of Ascentiel International (formerly NIBW) in September 2024 and PMQ in July 2026.

Founded in 1997, Grupo Concentra is an insurance and reinsurance brokerage group employing more than 330 professionals in Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. The company will continue to operate under its current brands and structure, with no changes for clients, brokers, employees, or insurers. Ascentiel states that Concentra will be its consolidation platform in Spain and Portugal, with the aim of accelerating growth and building a leading European platform for specialized insurance intermediation.
