The announcement of the closure of the traditional Vicentino College of Imaculada Conceição, in Botafogo, in Rio's South Zone, has brought discussion about the future of one of the historic addresses in Praia de Botafogo. The school will cease operations at the end of this year, and residents are already speculating about what may occupy the extensive area of the complex starting in 2027.
The president of the Botafogo Residents and Friends Association (Amab), Regina Chiaradia, claims to have received information that a construction company would be evaluating the purchase of the land. However, according to those responsible, the meeting in which the school announced it would no longer accept enrollments, held last week, had representatives from the Pensi and pH schools, from the Salta Educação Group, which would have leased the property.
