Shirley de Figueiredo Ângelo, known as Manequim, was arrested on Tuesday by civil police officers from the 28th Police Station (Praça Seca) on Presidente Dutra Highway, in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. She is identified by police as the treasurer of the criminal structure linked to Luiz Fernando da Costa, aka Fernandinho Beira-Mar, and had a preventive detention order issued by the Federal Court.
The suspect is godmother of Fernandinho Beira-Mar, who is imprisoned at the Federal Penitentiary of Catanduvas, in Paraná, in Disciplinary Differential Regime (DDR). The drug trafficker was sentenced to more than 300 years in prison and has been in custody for more than 20 years.
Shirley de Figueiredo Ângelo has been targeted by police for more than two decades for her involvement with drug trafficking. After Beira-Mar's arrest in Colombia, in 2001, she continued to be investigated for her role as the trafficking operation's accountant.
