Miriam Pires dos Santos was born and grew up across three geographies: São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola and Portugal. This immersion in different cultural and social contexts, combined with a keen eye for the various ways of being and existing in the world, awakened from an early age a fascination with human behavior.
This curiosity led her to psychology, an area in which she developed her work through the AfroPsis platform. The platform addresses issues related to the Black and Afro-descendant community.
Miriam Santos notes that a Black person occupying a space of authority or prominence frequently raises waves of counter-reaction, highlighting the challenges faced by Black professionals in positions of prominence.
