Patuá restaurant, one of the pillars of Macanese cuisine in Lisbon, will close its doors in September. This week, Ricardo Felner visited the establishment to see the space before the closure.
Patuá represented one of the last links to Macanese gastronomic tradition in the Portuguese capital, being considered a reference restaurant for this specific cuisine.
The closure is due to the unbearable rise in rents in Lisbon, which made it impossible to continue the business. This situation reflects the growing difficulties that many historic establishments face in the city.
