The European Central Bank (ECB) is expected to announce today, September 10, a rise in key interest rates, according to the majority of analysts heard by the Lusíada news agency. Analysts are divided on the possibility of a further increase in rates before the end of the year.
The Global Public Markets Chief Investment Officer at Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), Michael Krautzberger, said he expects the ECB to announce a second interest rate increase, raising the deposit rate to 2.5%.
Krautzberger does not rule out the possibility of a further interest rate increase by the ECB before the end of the year, keeping the future trajectory of European monetary policy open.
