Rua da Sofia, in the historic center of the city, became exclusively reserved for public transport and authorized vehicles yesterday, in the Arnado-Praça 8 de Maio direction. This change is part of a new circulation organization that takes effect today in the Baixa.
The measure is generating growing concern among local traders. Many fear that restricting access to private vehicles will drive away customers and negatively affect their businesses.
The authorities implemented this reorganization with the aim of reducing traffic in the historic center and promoting more sustainable mobility in the city center.
