Alfonso Verdú, a 51-year-old man from Ibiza, is playing a fundamental role in the humanitarian response in Nepal. His priority, according to him, is to identify around a thousand bodies resulting from the tragedy that struck the country.
Verdú works from his office in New Delhi, India, at a frantic pace, with constant meetings. He answered questions from the digital edition of the newspaper INFORMACIÓN through phone calls and WhatsApp messages.
In the conversation, the humanitarian coordinator explained that he was preparing to go to sleep, as it was almost 23:00 in India, warning that the following day would be complicated. His testimony comes in the context of a large-scale operation to address the crisis in Nepal.
