War at the STF will be heavy and for professionals

oglobo10 September 2026 at 04:05

The Supreme Federal Court is going through a severe internal crisis characterized by a dispute described as "self-devouring," where justices are in conflict behind the court's scenes. The president of the STF, Edson Fachin, appears demoralized by his colleagues and is criticized for having acted with delay in the situation. The internal war continues silently, even after the measures adopted to contain the escalation of the public conflict.

The decisions made by Fachin this week managed to temporarily halt the crisis and prevented its intensification before public opinion. However, these measures represent only a temporary armistice and are far from paralyzing the confrontations occurring behind the court's scenes. The conflict remains active while awaiting developments.

The central point of the dispute involves Justice Alexandre de Moraes, target of an investigation request that will be decided in a plenary session of the STF. Until that vote occurs, the internal battle should remain, even if less visible to the public. The institutional normalcy of the court remains compromised.
