The Azores delegation of the National Association of Parishes (ANAFRE) defended yesterday the need to maintain the value of nine million euros for the Azorean parishes in 2027 and 2028. The association also demanded an increase in the funds destined for the eco-parishes program.
Regarding the year 2026, ANAFRE stated that it had been understanding towards the Regional Government of the Azores, explaining that this posture was due to the fact that the governmental option was the full execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
This decision to fully execute the PRR ended up creating some constraints in the execution capacity of the parishes within the scope of their projects and activities. The association expressed understanding towards this situation, although it made clear that it intends to guarantee better conditions for the following years.
