Two wines win gold at world competition

The Wine Cooperative of Pico Island won two gold medals at the international competition "Mondial des Vins Extrêmes 2026". The distinguished wines were DOP Pico Arinto dos Açores Garrafeira 2020 and DOP Pico Frei Gigante 2023.

The result was announced through a press release. This achievement once again internationally recognizes the uniqueness of wines produced on Pico Island, in the Azores.

The competition "Mondial des Vins Extrêmes" is dedicated to wines produced in extreme conditions, which fits perfectly with the viticulture practiced on Pico Island, a region known for its vineyards dug into volcanic slopes.
