Petrobras announced a price adjustment for gasoline, eliminating a discount that had been applied. The increase was R$ 0.19 per liter in the prices charged by the state-owned company to distributors.
However, this adjustment will be practically nullified in the final price paid by consumers. A reduction of R$ 0.63 in taxes levied on the fuel counterbalances the effect of the price adjustment promoted by Petrobras.
Thus, the real impact for consumers at the fuel pumps should be minimal or non-existent, since the tax benefit offsets the increase decided by the oil state-owned company.
