The Intermunicipal Community of Baixo Alentejo (CIMBAL) and APPJuventude – Portuguese Association of Youth Professionals formalized on Tuesday, October 8, a partnership to strengthen youth participation in public decisions. This cooperation is part of the CRJ+ | Regional Youth Councils: from Idea to Practice initiative, funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Youth programme.
The partnership covers four main areas of action. The first focuses on training youth professionals and municipal teams. The second aims to strengthen municipal Youth Councils and their connection to young people and local organizations.
The third area of cooperation involves consultation and co-creation, in coordination with the CRJ Academies, Caravans and Laboratories planned in the project. The fourth goal is the participatory preparation of a future Intermunicipal Youth Commission of Baixo Alentejo.
APPJuventude will ensure technical and methodological support, while CIMBAL promotes territorial coordination and stakeholder mobilization. The goal is to transform contributions into proposals, provide young people with information on the follow-up of their ideas, and build regular forms of cooperation between municipalities.
