The Minister of Agriculture, José Luís Carneiro, considered that agricultural diesel support is equivalent to "giving with one hand and taking away with two". This statement comes in the context of a debate on support measures for the agricultural sector.

The minister's position was expressed regarding the PS proposal to lower VAT on fuels in the next State Budget. José Luís Carneiro stated that he wants to see to believe and said he awaits the proposal that will be presented by the Government in October.

The Socialist Party proposes a reduction in VAT on fuels as a support measure for farmers, but the minister maintains a cautious position regarding this initiative.
