The Algarve region, in Portugal, is undergoing a significant transformation, ceasing to be merely a tourist destination to also become a life destination. The territory is increasingly attracting people who do not intend to visit it only temporarily, but rather to settle permanently.
There is a growing presence of residents who are no longer just passing through the region. These people have integrated into the local community and chose the Algarve as their usual place of residence.
Many of these people initially arrived as tourists and, after experiencing the region, decided to stay. The visiting experience turned into a decision to settle, contributing to a change in the demographic and social profile of the Algarve.
