Montenegro blames PS Governments for poor results of Portuguese students

Montenegro blames the Socialist Party Governments for the poor results of Portuguese students. The analysis comes following the release of data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).

Portugal remains statistically close to the OECD average, but has lost knowledge in several areas. There are few students of excellence in the country.

Only 6% of Portuguese students are top performers in Sciences, when the OECD average is 7%. In Mathematics, also only 6% reach the level of excellence, below the OECD's 8%. In Reading, the situation is more serious, with only 3% of students of excellence, which represents half the OECD average, which is 6%.
