Portugal conquers first medals at European Paralympic Swimming Championships

Portugal won its first medals at the European Paralympic Swimming Championships, which are being held in Kocaeli, Turkey. Marco Meneses won silver in the 400 meters freestyle, in the S11 category, finishing in 4:41.52 minutes. This result came after the Portuguese swimmer had been seventh in the 50 meters freestyle final. Diogo Cancela was the other Portuguese medalist, winning silver in the 100 meters butterfly. Marco Meneses expressed great satisfaction with the achievement, stating that his goal in this event was to get close to his personal best time.
