Supplement for pensioners: who receives it and how much will be received

Jornal de Negócios9 September 2026 at 20:41

The Portuguese Government will approve for this year a new extraordinary supplement aimed at pensioners. This measure should cover approximately two million people across the country.

The initiative appears as a replication of a similar measure implemented the previous year. Thus, the allocation of the supplement will be progressive and will depend directly on the pension value received by each beneficiary.

Pensioners with the lowest pensions will be the main beneficiaries of this extraordinary measure. The article suggests that the amounts to be received vary according to the income bracket of each pensioner.
