Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), rapporteur of the investigations into the Banco Master case, decided this Wednesday (9) to homologate the plea deal agreement of the financial market operator Antonio Carlos Freixo Júnior, known as "Mineiro." The decision represents an advance in the investigations into alleged irregularities involving the "Dark Horse" case.
In testimony to the Attorney General's Office (PGR), Freixo Júnior confirmed having made, over the past year, seven bank transfers to the Havengate fund totaling US$ 12.3 million, approximately R$ 69 million at the exchange rate of the time, at the request of banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master.
The "Dark Horse" case opened a crisis in Flavio Bolsonaro's (PL-RJ) presidential campaign after the Intercept Brasil website published messages of the senator demanding money from Vorcaro, supposedly for financing production. After the episode came to light and affected his performance in electoral polls, Flavio had promised clarifications about the case.
