Fundeb: MPPI investigates irregular use of the fund for payment of public servants in Bom Princípio

The Public Ministry of Piauí (MPPI) is investigating alleged irregularities in the use of the Fund for Maintenance and Development of Basic Education (Fundeb) in the municipality of Bom Princípio. The agency received denunciations indicating that resources destined for education may be being used improperly.

According to the denunciations received by MPPI, public agents of the municipality received payments of bonuses and other remuneration benefits irregularly. The Fundeb funds, which should be applied exclusively to the maintenance and development of basic education, would have been diverted to these payments.

The investigation seeks to determine whether there was misapplication of public resources and identify those responsible for the alleged irregularities. The case is now in the hands of the Public Ministry, which shall take appropriate measures after the conclusion of the investigations.

Association asks Supreme Court to guarantee extra benefit for retired judges and pensioners

The National Association of State Magistrates (Anamages) filed a motion with the Supreme Federal Court asking that the payment of the "Career Seniority Value Portion" (PVTAC) be guaranteed to retired judges and pensioners. The entity argues that the STF recognized the right to this indemnification payment during a trial in March, but that an error in the drafting of the ruling did not expressly include this group. The PVTAC is a 5% additional on salary for every five years of legal activity, which can reach up to 35% of the salary, and was approved by the Plenary as an indemnification payment for magistrates and members of the Public Ministry.
