The municipality of Macedo de Cavaleiros formalized the signing of the cultural associativism support protocols for this year, with a global investment of 68 thousand euros destined for 19 associations in the territory.
This support aims to recognize the different cultural expressions existing in the municipality, covering areas such as music, traditions, heritage, folklore, recreational activities, and initiatives for the enhancement of local identity.
During the signing ceremony, the president of the municipal council, Sérgio Borges, stated that, although the municipality can support the associations, the work is always carried out by the associations themselves. The mayor left a challenge for them to continue innovating, working together, and finding new ways to reach people, without losing the identity that characterizes them.
Among the associations covered by the protocols are the Associação Bagueixe em Movimento, the Associação Cultural Macedense — Grupo Coral, the Banda Filarmónica 25 de Março de Lamas, the Confraria do Javali, the Grupo Cultural e Recreativo da Casa do Povo — Rancho, among others.
