Critiques of Ruas and the left that supports Paes: see five points from William Siri's interview with GLOBO, Extra, Valor and CBN

In an interview conducted by GLOBO, Extra, Valor and CBN, PSOL candidate for governor of Rio, William Siri, admitted difficulties in attracting left-wing voters amid President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) support for Eduardo Paes's (PSD) candidacy. The PSOL candidate sought to contrast himself with the former mayor of the capital regarding political alliances and treatment of public servants, themes that are usually highlighted in left-wing campaigns.

Siri also tried to associate PL candidate Douglas Ruas, who was interviewed on Tuesday, with politicians investigated for involvement with organized crime. In his answers, the PSOL candidate sought to make overtures to police forces, but also criticized operations in favelas.

The interview was broadcast live on CBN radio, on the newspapers' websites and on YouTube. The series of interviews with candidates for governor continues.

Association asks Supreme Court to guarantee extra benefit for retired judges and pensioners

The National Association of State Magistrates (Anamages) filed a motion with the Supreme Federal Court asking that the payment of the "Career Seniority Value Portion" (PVTAC) be guaranteed to retired judges and pensioners. The entity argues that the STF recognized the right to this indemnification payment during a trial in March, but that an error in the drafting of the ruling did not expressly include this group. The PVTAC is a 5% additional on salary for every five years of legal activity, which can reach up to 35% of the salary, and was approved by the Plenary as an indemnification payment for magistrates and members of the Public Ministry. The Minister of Economy and Territorial Cohesion, Castro Almeida, stated that the supports announced by the Government "never" will be sufficient to mitigate the increase in the cost of living, at a time when Portugal is affected by several "wars". The minister also responded to PS's criticisms, guaranteeing that the State "is not profiting from the war", explaining that the increase in VAT revenue is being offset by the reduction of ISP.
