The referees José Bessa and João Gonçalves, who failed the physical tests, were appointed to referee FC Porto and Benfica matches in the Portuguese I Liga. José Bessa will be on Saturday at the home match of Casa Pia against champion FC Porto, in Rio Maior. The following day, Sunday, João Gonçalves will be at the home match of Benfica against Gil Vicente, at the Estádio da Luz. The appointment of these referees comes at a time when Portuguese refereeing is under scrutiny after the negative results in the physical tests.
