The Municipality of Pombal will host a short Athletics track that will serve as a preparation base for the 2027 European Championships. The infrastructure is being installed at the Pombal Sports Complex.
Various entities met to monitor the installation process of the track, including the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP). This collaboration between entities aims to guarantee the necessary conditions for the preparation of Portuguese athletes.
The short track will allow national athletes to prepare before the European Championship, providing proper training facilities that were previously unavailable in the region.
The project represents an important investment for the development of Athletics in Portugal and for the preparation of the Portuguese team for the 2027 European Championships.
