Lula must avoid mentioning Ciro Nogueira at event in Piauí; campaign expects crowd of 50,000 people

Given the wear caused by the crisis at the Supreme Federal Court, allies of President Lula intend to use a political event this Wednesday (9) in Piauí to demonstrate their strength in the Northeast. The campaign set a goal of gathering 50,000 people, which would be the largest event of the electoral race so far.

Governor Rafael Fonteles, running for re-election for the PT, is mobilizing the entire base in the state to reach the established goal. Organizers expect to transform the event into a demonstration of popular support for the federal government.

An issue that has caused discomfort among allies is the fact that Lula has not recorded TV ads for either of the two Senate candidates on the governing coalition ticket. The campaign coordinator cited scheduling problems to explain the absence, but the real reason would be an agreement made with the Senate president.

According to PT sources heard by CBN, Lula should avoid mentioning the name of Senator Ciro Nogueira, who was an ally of the Bolsonaro government and is currently at PP, during his speech at the event. The guidance would be to keep the focus on a positive message without direct attacks on opponents.
