A woman identified by police as treasurer of the criminal structure linked to Luiz Fernando da Costa, known as Fernandinho Beira-Mar, was arrested on Tuesday (08/09) by civil police officers from the 28th Police Station (Praça Seca). Shirley de Figueiredo Ângelo, known as Manequim, was located on President Dutra Highway, in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense.
The drug trafficker is imprisoned in a Federal Prison in Catanduvas, in Paraná, in Disciplinary Differential Regime (DDR). Sentenced to more than 300 years in prison, Beira-Mar has been in custody for more than 20 years. The investigated woman has been targeted by police for more than two decades for her involvement with drug trafficking.
After Beira-Mar's arrest in Colombia, in 2001, Shirley was identified by the Federal Police as responsible for the finances of the criminal organization. She had been a fugitive and now awaits the legal proceedings resulting from her arrest.
