The LGBTQIA+ March in Guimarães returns to the streets on September 26, promoting itself as a space for claims, visibility, and defense of the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. The initiative aims to bring together the population in a demonstration for equality, dignity, and inclusion, giving voice to the different people and experiences of the community.
The defined route for the march passes through some of the main arteries of the city center: São Dâmaso, Toural, Santo António, Gil Vicente, and Paio Galvão, then returning to Toural and ending at the Bandstand in Alameda. At the end, there is a planned reading of the manifesto and an open microphone moment, followed by a traditional festival (arraial).
The organization leaves the message "Guimarães belongs to all people," calling for the participation of the community and inviting participants to bring their flags, energy, and voice. The program extends into the night with an after party at Associação Convívio, which will feature DJs and drag shows.
