The Water Rally Super Special stage will affect traffic in the city of Chaves, with all vehicles prohibited from 6:00 PM. Roads are expected to reopen at 11:45 PM, with pedestrian traffic also likely to be restricted at certain points along the route.
Among the closed roads will be Marechal Carmona Avenue, in the uphill direction from the Fonte do Leite Roundabout, Heróis de Chaves Avenue between the former Minipreço Roundabout and the Market Roundabout, and Estádio Avenue after Bairro Verde and on the north side near the Stadium Roundabout.
There will also be restrictions on Nuno Álvares Avenue near the Barracks Roundabout, Rua Dona Maria do Carmo Carmona, General Ribeiro de Carvalho Avenue after the Bakery, and Irmãos Rui e Garcia Lopes Avenue after the intersection with Rua Enfermeiro Carvalho. The restrictions also include Rua Dom Álvaro de Chaves, Rua Nossa Senhora das Brotas, Rua da Formiguinha and Travessa da Formiguinha, as well as access to the Stadium Roundabout via Rua General Luís Pimentel Pinto and Avenida 5 de Outubro/Avenida do Tâmega.
The municipality of Chaves requests the cooperation of the population, recommending that parking be avoided in the areas covered by the route and that signage and instructions from authorities be respected. On September 9th and 10th, reconnaissance runs by the competing drivers will also be carried out in the affected areas, in compliance with the Road Code.
