Largo do National Palace of Queluz hosts, on September 19, at 9:00 PM, the 28th edition of the National Parade of Portuguese Traditional Costumes, a free-entry event that brings together over a thousand participants.
The parade is organized by the Portuguese Folklore Federation, with the support of the Sintra Municipal Council, and aims to celebrate the diversity and richness of traditional costumes from different regions of the country.
The event is considered a true "living museum" of popular culture, serving as a way to preserve intangible cultural heritage and to pass on to new generations the historical value of costumes, ways of life, and Portuguese traditions.
The holding of the parade in Sintra also helps reinforce the cultural and tourist dimension of the municipality, which hosts a nationwide initiative dedicated to the valorization of Portuguese popular traditions.
