The Madeiran Teachers' Union held a protest in Funchal against the teacher placement process in the region. The teachers demonstrated because they considered that there was bad faith on the part of the regional authorities in how the placement process took place.
The Madeiran Teachers' Union accused the responsible entities of acting dishonestly in the teacher placement process. According to the union, the way the process was conducted did not respect the teachers' rights.
In response, the Regional Secretariat of Education rejected the accusations and classified them as misinformation by the union. The regional body defended the transparency and legality of the teacher placement process in Madeira.
