The Municipal Council of Lousã approved the allocation of 230,150 euros to sports institutions in the municipality for the 2026/2027 season, representing an increase of approximately 7% compared to the previous season. This amount exceeds the 215,150 euros allocated in 2025/2026 by 15 thousand euros and is intended for financing regular and occasional activities, as well as transportation and facilities expenses.
Of the total amount, 143,350 euros are designated for regular and occasional activities, 53,300 euros for transportation support and 33,500 euros for facilities expenses. The allocation of funds will be formalized through sports development programme contracts, based on the activity plans submitted by the institutions for the new sports season.
The support covers 16 entities and various sports modalities, including football, rugby, volleyball, basketball, swimming, skating, badminton, martial arts, BTT, trail and adapted sport.
The council highlighted that this decision continues the support for the sports associative movement, recognizing the role of clubs and associations in promoting physical activity, in the leisure time occupation of children, young people and adults, in youth development and in community participation.
