The Brazilian Academy of Cinema announced on Wednesday morning (9) the six national productions finalists to represent Brazil in the race for a nomination at the 2027 Oscars for best international film. The decision was made at a meeting by the Academy's selection committee.
The selected films are: "100 days", by Carlos Saldanha; "The fabulous time machine", by Eliza Capai; "The nature of invisible things", by Rafaela Camelo; "Kite made", by Allan Deberton; "Our secret", by Grace Passô; and "Vicentina apologizes", by Gabriel Martins.
The list necessarily considers films that premiered in theaters between October 1, 2025 and September 30, 2026, and that were on screen for at least seven consecutive days in commercial theaters operating for profit.
The Academy's committee will meet again on the following Wednesday (16) to announce the finalist film. The 2027 Oscars ceremony is scheduled for March 14.
