IPMA (Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere) revealed this Wednesday the climatological data for August 2026 for Madeira, showing a month with above-average air temperatures at all reference stations of the archipelago.
The evaluated stations were Funchal/Observatório, Chão do Areeiro, Santana and Porto Santo, which constitute the reference stations for the region. At all these stations, the air temperature averages were above the normal values for the 1991-2020 reference period.
Regarding precipitation, the data showed greater irregularity. At two of the stations, the rainfall values were above average, while at the other two they were below average, with the 1991-2020 reference period remaining as the basis for comparison.
