The Polytechnic University of Viseu promotes, between September 22 and 24, the European Sustainable Development Week, an initiative that aims to mobilize the academic community for the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The programming will be preceded on Thursday by a workshop on the introduction to SDGs and sustainability in the classroom.
The initiative is part of the European Sustainable Development Week, launched in 2015 by Austria, France and Germany and supported by the European Sustainable Development Network. Since that date, more than 50,000 events have been registered under the initiative across Europe, involving tens of millions of participants.
In Viseu, the program kicks off on the 22nd with the opening session and reception for new students, followed by a round table on sustainability and health policies. The second day includes activities such as workshops on zero hunger, zero pollution, circular economy in businesses, circular fashion and sessions on gender equality.
On the last day, initiatives are planned such as visits to the Beirão Plateau on circular economy, an open class on sustainability in businesses, a themed escape room and a dog walk, completing a diverse program that covers various aspects of sustainable development.
