CDS-PP praises Ivone Silva for the "historic and overcoming feat" of the paraglider

CDS-PP, through Deputy Sara Madalena in the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, today submitted a Vote of Congratulations to greet athlete Ivone Silva for winning the title of Junior Paragliding World Champion. Sara Madalena praised the "historic and overcoming feat" achieved by the paraglider.

Ivone Silva is from the parish of Canhas, in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, on the Island of Madeira. The athlete achieved this sporting milestone during the 2nd FAI Junior World Championship, which took place in Kruševo, North Macedonia.

The championship ran from August 22 to 30, 2026, with Ivone Silva becoming Junior Paragliding World Champion at this international competition organized by the FAI. This feat represents a historic milestone for Madeiran sport.
