Sintra | PSP Patrol Ends with Two Arrests for Drug Trafficking

Jornal de Mafra9 September 2026 at 14:58

The Public Security Police arrested two men in the parish of Agualva-Cacém, in the municipality of Sintra, after detecting a drug transaction during a patrol operation in an area known for trafficking. Police identified four individuals involved in what appeared to be an exchange of illicit product, and the suspects attempted to flee upon realizing the police presence.

One of the suspects was seen discarding a package containing a suspicious substance during the flight, which allowed for the collection of clear evidence of the transaction. The police intervention resulted in the seizure of 13 doses of hashish, 50 euros in cash, and a knife with a 12-centimeter blade that was being carried concealed by one of the participants.

The two arrested suspects were taken to the detention facilities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command, where they remain awaiting presentation to the Judicial Authority.

The PSP states that it will continue to act in locations flagged for the repeated practice of trafficking, integrating these operations into its criminal prevention strategy and reinforcement of security in the area of the Sintra Police Division.
