Jury was about to declare Lindsay Clancy innocent by reason of insanity, but one member opposed the decision

SIC Notícias9 September 2026 at 15:29

After seven days of deliberations without reaching a unanimous verdict, Lindsay Clancy's trial was dismissed. The jury panel failed to reach a consensus on the case.

According to the three jurors who broke their silence, the panel was about to declare Lindsay Clancy innocent by reason of insanity. This decision appeared to be the direction the deliberations were heading.

However, one of the jurors opposed the decision, preventing the unanimous verdict that would have been necessary to close the case. This opposition led to the impasse that resulted in the dismissal of the trial.

The case now awaits a new decision from the Public Ministry, which will have to determine the next steps to resolve this situation.
