"It's getting worse": resident complains about construction waste piled up in Marinha Grande

Correio da Manhã9 September 2026 at 15:39

A resident identified as Bruno reported to CMTV the existence of a large amount of construction waste piled up on Rua das Portas Verdes, in Marinha Grande. According to the resident, the situation is getting progressively worse.

More than 30 bags with construction waste accumulated for over a month can be found at the location. Among the abandoned materials are fibrocement tiles, which contain asbestos, a substance dangerous to human health.

Bruno expressed concern about the situation, warning that the accumulation of waste has been worsening. The asbestos present in the tiles represents an environmental and public health risk, especially when exposed to weather conditions.

The report was made through CMTV, a television channel that covered the situation. No contact with the competent authorities or information about those responsible for dumping the waste is mentioned.
