Schools from pre-school to secondary education will be able to hire teachers daily from next week, according to a new teaching recruitment model approved today in the Council of Ministers. This change represents a significant shift in how hiring is done in the education sector.
Education Minister Fernando Alexandre announced this measure at the end of the Council of Ministers meeting, during a solemn ceremony without questions held at the Polytechnic University of Bragança. The official stated that this new approach will allow a drastic reduction in the time students go without classes.
The new teaching recruitment model aims to respond more quickly to schools' needs, allowing hiring in a more immediate and frequent manner. This reformulation comes as part of a set of educational policies debated by the government in this meeting.
The implementation starting next week means that schools will have more autonomy and speed to fill vacancies and ensure continuity of classes for students.
