Angola discovers new oil well in Block 15

Observador9 September 2026 at 14:37

Angola has discovered a new oil well in Block 15, a region already known for its activity in the petroleum sector. The discovery represents another step in the exploration of hydrocarbon resources in the country.

Officials from the petroleum agency attributed the discovery, at least in part, to the incentives offered by the Angolan State to investors in the sector. These incentives are believed to have contributed to attracting and maintaining the interest of international companies in the country.

ExxonMobil, a company involved in the exploration, highlighted what it described as the "continued potential of Angola's offshore resources." This statement underscores the ongoing importance of deepwater operations for the Angolan economy and for the national petroleum sector.
