The Brazilian Bar Association in the Federal District opened an ethics-disciplinary process against the partners of the law firm Barci & Barci Advogados, which belongs to the family of Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The decision was announced on Tuesday night by OAB-DF president Paulo Maurício Siqueira during an extraordinary session of the Full Council.
Among the five professionals who will be subject to the procedure are Viviane Barci, Moraes' wife, the couple's two children, and the minister's sister-in-law. The measure also affects Ciro Soares, former lawyer of Daniel Vorcaro, in a separate process.
The opening of the process is based on a Federal Police report showing 52 messages exchanged between former Banco Master owner Daniel Vorcaro and Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The document also points to Ciro Soares as a supposed intermediary of conversations with the attorney general.
In the disclosed conversations, Vorcaro asks Moraes if he should flee the country, revealing the content of the communications that motivated OAB-DF's action against the lawyers involved.
