Carris, Lisbon's public transport company, received 29 new 100% electric buses. This acquisition represents an investment of 17.05 million euros, funds that were mobilized through the Environmental Fund of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The new electric vehicles will reinforce Carris's fleet in the Portuguese capital, contributing to the energy transition in the public transport sector. This delivery is part of a broader strategy of decarbonization and modernization of the transport network.
In addition to this acquisition for Carris, the Portuguese Government also plans to finance 1,006 zero-emission buses. These additional vehicles will be destined for 70 municipalities across the country, expanding the impact of the sustainable mobility strategy at the national level.
