Social Security warned about the circulation of fraudulent messages sent on behalf of the Instituto da Segurança Social (ISS), through which recipients are redirected to fake pages designed for the improper collection of personal data or obtaining money.
According to the Instituto da Segurança Social, these fraudulent messages usually include a hyperlink to a page that improperly uses the organization's visual identity.
The authorities recommend that citizens do not click on suspicious links and always confirm the authenticity of communications through the official Social Security channels.
The alert comes following an increasingly common practice of phishing and other fraud schemes that use the names of public institutions to deceive citizens.
