The Spanish Football Federation has launched a pioneering fertility support program for players and referees. The program was created in partnership with a specialised clinic and aims to give athletes access to fertility treatments.
Through this agreement, athletes will be able to use treatments such as in vitro fertilisation and egg freezing. The goal is to allow women to combine their sporting career with the possibility of motherhood.
The Spanish federation classifies this measure as pioneering in women's sport in the country. This initiative comes at a time when more and more women are practicing high-performance sport and face challenges related to fertility.
