The intensified controls aim to reinforce road safety during the coming weeks. The campaign coincides with the return of the citizens of Castelló to the city after their vacations.

The operation is focused on prevention and control, but also includes awareness actions for drivers about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances.

Boat with five journalists missing en route to erupting volcano in Indonesia

Rescue teams in Indonesia searched on Wednesday (9) for eight missing people after a boat lost contact while heading to the volcanic island of Anak Krakatau, in the Sunda Strait, to cover an eruption. The vessel was carrying five photojournalists, two crew members and a guide, and had departed from Carita, in Banten province. The last message was received at 6:13 PM on Monday (7), informing that the group had reached the waters near the volcano. The last known location was about 18.5 kilometers from the coast. The journalists worked for the state Antara agency, the Turkish Anadolu agency and other local and international outlets. The search continued in the Sunda Strait, with Anak Krakatau still registering volcanic activity despite the initial eruption having ended on Sunday.
