A woman identified by police as the treasurer of the criminal structure linked to Luiz Fernando da Costa, known as Fernandinho Beira-Mar, was arrested on Tuesday by civil police officers from the 28th Police Station (Praça Seca). She was located on the Presidente Dutra Highway, in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense.
The trafficker is imprisoned in a Federal Penitentiary in Catanduvas, Paraná, in a Disciplinary Differential Regime (RDD). Sentenced to more than 300 years in prison, Beira-Mar has been in custody for more than 20 years.
The investigated individual has been targeted by police for more than two decades due to her involvement with drug trafficking. After Beira-Mar's arrest in Colombia in 2001, she was identified by the Federal Police as responsible for the organization's finances.
