The União de Freguesias do Vade, in the municipality of Vila Verde, received an all-terrain vehicle donated by REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais. The delivery of the 4×4 vehicle aims to reinforce the means available locally for the prevention and response to rural fires in the region.
The vehicle will be at the service of local teams linked to civil protection and forest defense, and can be used in prevention and firefighting actions that affect the territory of the parishes that make up the União.
The initiative falls within the scope of REN's responsibilities as an energy infrastructure operator and its commitment to surrounding communities. The energy grid company has been establishing partnerships with local authorities and entities to enhance preparation and response to emergency situations.
With this vehicle, local authorities now have greater mobility capacity in difficult terrain and access to forest areas, which should contribute to a faster and more effective response in case of rural fires in the area of the União de Freguesias do Vade.
