Temer says he advised Moraes to seek dialogue with Mendonça and that decision on PF director hinders

Former president Michel Temer said he spoke by phone with Supreme Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes and advised him to seek dialogue with fellow minister André Mendonça, as a way to try to contain the crisis at the court. According to Temer, the conversation was "very brief" and took place before Mendonça ordered the removal of the Federal Police director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, and the director of Police Intelligence of the corporation, Leandro Almada.

Temer was responsible for appointing Moraes to the STF in 2017, to fill the vacancy left by minister Teori Zavascki, who died in a plane crash in January of that year. The former president defended a negotiated solution for the crisis at the court and stated that Moraes and Mendonça should seek dialogue and conciliation.
