The Judicial Police of Aveiro arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of having set several fires in Águeda during the current year.
The arrest was carried out by the PJ Northern Directorate and the suspect was brought before the competent judicial authorities for questioning and application of precautionary measures.
The authorities indicate that the individual is strongly suspected of committing several arson crimes, having set the fires at different times throughout the current year.
The case is being investigated by the police authorities, who have gathered sufficient evidence to justify the arrest of the suspect.
