Rampa dos Ferreiros will promote cycling and athletics

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes9 September 2026 at 12:19

The municipality will promote Rampa dos Ferreiros, a sporting event that aims to boost one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the region, characterized by steep climbs and descents. The idea arose three years ago, as revealed by Alexandre Favaios, the municipality's mayor, with the objective of creating an event open to all interested parties.

The competition includes two modalities: athletics and cycling. Regarding cycling, an individual climb in a time trial format is planned, with free but limited registrations to 150 participants.

Also in athletics, 150 participants will be admitted, with prizes awarded for all categories and age groups. The municipality has the partnership of the Athletics Association and the Regional Cycling Association of Vila Real for the organization of the event.
